About the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII
The Lancer Evolution VII marked a significant shift for the series, moving to the larger CT9A chassis shared with the Lancer Cedia. While heavier than its predecessor, it introduced the Active Centre Differential (ACD), which worked alongside the Active Yaw Control (AYC) to provide unprecedented levels of cornering agility. The legendary 4G63T engine remained, officially capped at 280 PS due to the Japanese 'gentlemen's agreement', though real-world output was often higher. It was the first Evo to be offered with an automatic transmission (GT-A), though the manual GSR remains the definitive driver's choice.
