About the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II
Introduced in January 1994, the Lancer Evolution II (CE9A) was a significant refinement of the original formula, focusing on handling stability and aerodynamic efficiency. It featured a 10mm longer wheelbase, wider tracks, and larger 15-inch wheels to accommodate fatter tyres, addressing the twitchy nature of the Evo I. The legendary 4G63 engine received increased boost and reduced back pressure, raising output to 260 PS (256 hp). As a homologation special, it laid the groundwork for Mitsubishi's first WRC victory at the 1995 Swedish Rally, cementing the Evo's status as a giant-killer.
