About the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV
The Evolution IV marked a significant technological leap for Mitsubishi's rally-bred sedan, moving to the newer CN9A platform. It was the first Evo to feature Active Yaw Control (AYC), a sophisticated system that electronically managed torque distribution across the rear wheels to sharpen cornering. The legendary 4G63 engine was rotated 180 degrees to improve weight distribution and reduce torque steer, while a new twin-scroll turbocharger improved response. Recognisable by its massive PIAA fog lights and triangular tail lights, the IV remains a pivotal generation that defined the Evo's high-tech character.
