About the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III
The Lancer Evolution III arrived in 1995 as the final refinement of the first-generation Evo platform. It featured significantly more aggressive aerodynamics than its predecessors, including a massive rear wing and a deeper front air dam to improve cooling for the intercooler and brakes. Under the bonnet, the legendary 4G63 engine received a higher compression ratio and a new TD05H-16G-7 turbocharger, pushing output to a then-impressive 270 PS. This generation is historically significant for providing the base for Mitsubishi's first WRC Drivers' Championship in 1996.
