About the Buick Skylark
The 1975 Skylark marked the return of a storied nameplate to Buick's compact line, replacing the Apollo. Built on GM's X-body platform, it shared its DNA with the Chevrolet Nova but offered a more refined, 'gentlemanly' approach to the fuel-conscious 1970s. The defining feature was the 231 cubic-inch V6, an engine Buick famously bought back from AMC to meet the demand for efficiency. While not a performance car in the muscle-era sense, its smooth torque and comfortable ride made it a quintessential Buick for a changing era.
