About the Rover P6
The Rover P6 3500 transformed the P6 from a sophisticated but sedate four-cylinder saloon into a genuine executive express. By shoehorning the lightweight aluminium Buick-derived V8 into the engine bay, Rover created a car capable of effortless high-speed cruising that became a favourite of the British police. Its advanced design featured a base-unit construction with non-stressed panels, de Dion rear suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes with the rears mounted inboard. The 3500 remains highly regarded for its blend of period luxury, distinctive styling, and the characterful burble of its V8 engine.
