About the Buick GNX
The Buick GNX (Grand National Experimental) was a limited-edition 'last hurrah' for the G-body Regal, developed in partnership with ASC/McLaren. It featured a Garrett T3 turbocharger with a ceramic impeller and a larger intercooler, resulting in performance that famously eclipsed the contemporary Corvette and even the Ferrari F40 in 0-60 mph sprints. All 547 units were finished in black with distinctive flared wheel arches and functional fender vents. As one of the most iconic American performance cars of the 1980s, it is highly prized by collectors for its menacing aesthetic and giant-killing acceleration.
