About the Buick Skylark
Introduced to commemorate Buick's 50th anniversary, the 1953 Skylark was a limited-production flagship that showcased General Motors' design leadership. Based on the Roadmaster chassis, it featured a custom-bodied look with a chopped windshield, lowered beltline, and unique 'sweepspear' chrome styling. It was the first Buick to feature the legendary 'Nailhead' V8 engine and a 12-volt electrical system. Highly prized by collectors today, it remains one of the most iconic and luxurious American convertibles of the 1950s.
