About the Toyota Cresta X50/X60

Launched in 1980 as the flagship for the new Toyota Vista dealer network, the Cresta X50/X60 was a more formal, luxury-oriented sibling to the Mark II and Chaser. The Super Lucent trim sat at the top of the range, featuring a distinctive pillared hardtop body with sashless doors and a vertical grille inspired by European luxury cars. Under the bonnet, the 1G-EU straight-six provided smooth, refined power, though it was tuned for comfort rather than outright speed. Today, early Crestas are highly sought after by JDM collectors for their 'Kyusha' style, particularly when finished in the signature two-tone metallic paint schemes.
