About the Nissan Gloria Y30

The Y30 generation Nissan Gloria, launched in 1983, marked a significant milestone in Japanese automotive history as the first domestic passenger car to feature a V6 engine. Replacing the long-running L-series straight-six, the new VG-series engine provided a more compact and refined power delivery suited for the executive market. The Y30's 'cubist' styling, characterized by sharp lines and a formal upright grille, epitomised the 1980s Japanese luxury aesthetic. While the Gloria shared its platform and most mechanicals with the Cedric, it was positioned as a slightly more driver-focused alternative through the Nissan Prince Shop dealer network.
