About the Nissan Gloria Y32
The Y32-generation Nissan Gloria arrived in 1991, abandoning the traditional sedan look for a pillarless hardtop design with a distinctive quad-headlight face inspired by British luxury cars. While its sibling, the Cedric, focused on conservative luxury, the Gloria was marketed as the sportier alternative through Nissan's Prince Shop network. The 3.0-litre VG30DE V6 provided smooth, linear power, though the turbocharged Gran Turismo Ultima remains the most sought-after variant. Today, the Y32 is a cornerstone of VIP (Bippu) car culture, prized for its low-slung stance and over-engineered chassis shared with the Z32 300ZX.

Nissan Gloria Y32 fun facts
- The Y32 Gloria features a 'hidden' B-pillar; while it looks like a true pillarless hardtop, a structural reinforcement is tucked behind the glass for safety.
- The Gran Turismo trim's quad-round headlights were a deliberate nod to Bentley and Jaguar, intended to give the car a 'European' prestige.
- Higher-spec Y32 models were available with Super HICAS four-wheel steering, a technology shared with the Nissan Skyline GT-R.
