About the Honda Inspire

The second-generation Honda Inspire (UA2) continued the brand's unique engineering tradition of mounting a straight-five engine longitudinally in a front-wheel-drive chassis. While the trim is often referred to as a V6 in some markets due to its positioning, the 2.5-litre G25A unit is actually a high-revving inline-five, shared with the Acura TL in North America. This generation moved from a pillarless hardtop to a more rigid sedan body to meet stricter safety standards while retaining the 'wide-body' dimensions of the previous flagship Legend. It offers a distinctively smooth, high-pitched engine note and a refined, comfort-oriented ride typical of 1990s Japanese executive cars.
