About the Honda NSX-R NA1
Introduced in 1992 as a Japan-only special, the NSX-R (or Type R) transformed Honda's 'everyday supercar' into a focused track weapon. Engineers stripped 120kg of weight by removing sound deadening, audio, and air conditioning, while adding carbon-Kevlar Recaro seats and Enkei forged wheels. The 3.0-litre VTEC V6 featured a blueprinted and balanced crankshaft assembly, hand-finished by the same technicians who built Honda's racing engines. With a shorter final drive and stiffened suspension, it remains one of the most communicative and pure driving experiences of the 1990s.
