About the Honda Inspire

The fourth-generation Honda Inspire (UC1) was a Japanese domestic market luxury sedan based on the North American Accord platform but featuring a more premium interior and advanced safety tech. It was the first Honda to introduce Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), which could deactivate three cylinders during cruising to improve fuel efficiency. The UC1 also debuted the Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMS), a precursor to modern autonomous emergency braking. While it shares its underpinnings with the Accord, the Inspire was positioned as a more sophisticated alternative to the Toyota Windom and Nissan Teana.
