About the Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G
The second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX represents the peak of the Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) partnership between Mitsubishi and Chrysler. As the only trim to feature both the legendary 4G63T turbocharged engine and a permanent all-wheel-drive system, it became a formidable performance bargain that could challenge much more expensive sports cars. Its sleek 'organic' styling and significant role in early 2000s car culture, notably the Fast & Furious franchise, have cemented its status as a highly sought-after modern classic. While many were heavily modified or neglected, stock examples are now prized by collectors for their balanced handling and robust tuning potential.
