About the Honda Inspire
The third-generation Honda Inspire (UA4/UA5) represented a unique chapter in Honda's history, being the first model designed and manufactured by Honda R&D Americas in Ohio specifically for export to the Japanese market. Sharing its platform and most of its components with the second-generation Acura TL, it moved away from the previous generation's longitudinal five-cylinder layout in favour of a transverse V6. The 3.2-litre J32A1 engine provided smooth, linear power delivery typical of Honda's VTEC units, paired with a focus on ride comfort and cabin quietness. While it lacked the sporting edge of its predecessors, it offered a high level of standard equipment, including the early Internavi navigation system, positioning it as a credible alternative to the Toyota Mark II.
