About the Honda NSX-R NA2
The NA2 NSX-R is the final, most focused evolution of Honda's original supercar, featuring the facelifted fixed-headlight design and a larger 3.2-litre engine. Weight reduction was paramount, with Honda shedding 100kg through the use of a carbon-fibre bonnet, rear spoiler, and the removal of sound deadening and power steering. The engine was hand-balanced by master technicians to tolerances ten times tighter than the standard unit, resulting in exceptional throttle response. Exclusively sold in Japan, it is widely regarded as one of the finest-handling road cars ever produced, famously matching the Nürburgring lap time of the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale despite a significant power deficit.

Honda NSX-R NA2 fun facts
- The NSX-R's carbon-fibre bonnet was, at the time of production, the largest single-piece carbon-fibre component used on a production road car.
- Though officially rated at 280 PS due to the Japanese 'Gentlemen's Agreement', the hand-balanced blueprinted engines were widely known to produce significantly more power.
- The suspension was tuned so aggressively for track performance that it required a bespoke, asymmetrically patterned Bridgestone Potenza R070 tyre to maintain stability.
