About the BMW 7 Series G11
The G11-generation 7 Series marked a significant technical shift for BMW, introducing the 'Carbon Core' chassis which utilised carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic to shed up to 130kg over its predecessor. The 730d M Sport serves as the sweet spot of the range, pairing the efficient B57 straight-six diesel with a sharper aesthetic and air suspension as standard. It debuted pioneering technology such as Gesture Control and Remote Control Parking, though it was often overshadowed by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in pure ride comfort. For the collector, it represents the peak of BMW's diesel engineering before the industry-wide shift toward electrification.
