About the BMW 7 Series E32
Introduced in 1992 as part of the E32's late-cycle update, the 740i debuted BMW's first V8 engine in nearly three decades. The M60 engine provided a refined alternative to the thirsty V12, offering nearly identical performance with improved efficiency and a lighter front end. The E32 generation was a technological tour de force, being the first production car to offer Xenon headlights and double-glazed windows. While early examples suffered from Nikasil bore lining issues, surviving cars are now prized for their Spada-designed aesthetics and balanced driving dynamics.
