About the Hyundai Equus VI
The second-generation Equus (VI) represented Hyundai's most serious attempt to compete with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Lexus LS. Launched in South Korea in 2009 and later in North America, it featured the award-winning 'Tau' V8 engine and a sophisticated electronically controlled air suspension. While it lacked the badge prestige of its rivals, it offered a comprehensive suite of luxury features including reclining rear seats and a massage function as standard. It served as the precursor to the standalone Genesis luxury brand.
