About the Audi A8 D5
The fourth-generation Audi A8 (D5) arrived in 2017 as a technological tour de force, debuting the brand's new minimalist, screen-heavy interior design. Built on the MLB Evo platform, it was the first production car designed for Level 3 autonomous driving, though regulatory hurdles limited the rollout of its 'Traffic Jam Pilot'. The 50 TDI variant features a refined V6 diesel engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, providing effortless torque and improved efficiency for long-distance cruising. While it prioritises comfort with its standard adaptive air suspension, the A8 remains a discreet and highly capable alternative to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
