About the Toyota Sienna XL40
The fourth-generation Toyota Sienna (XL40) marked a radical shift for the nameplate by launching exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. Built on the TNGA-K platform, it trades the traditional V6 for a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors, achieving a class-leading 36 mpg combined. Its design was inspired by the Shinkansen Japanese bullet train, featuring a more sculpted, SUV-like profile than its predecessors. While it prioritises efficiency and comfort, the Sienna remains a practical powerhouse with a 3,500-lb towing capacity and available electronic on-demand all-wheel drive.
