About the Toyota Sienna XL10

Launched in late 1997 for the 1998 model year, the XL10 Sienna replaced the mid-engined Previa with a more conventional front-wheel-drive layout based on the Camry platform. It was designed specifically for the North American market, prioritising safety and refinement with standard ABS and optional side airbags. The 3.0-litre 1MZ-FE V6 engine was praised for its smoothness, though early models were later known for oil sludge issues if maintenance was neglected. While smaller than its domestic rivals, its car-like handling and Toyota build quality made it a segment leader in reliability.
