About the SEAT Ibiza Mk2
The 1999 facelift of the second-generation SEAT Ibiza, often referred to as the 6K2, marked a significant shift for the Spanish brand under Volkswagen Group ownership. While the chassis remained based on the VW Polo 6N, the exterior was heavily revised with a new split-grille design and the interior received a complete overhaul to match VW's contemporary quality standards. The 1.4 S served as a core volume trim, offering a balance of economy and reliability rather than outright performance. It is remembered as the model that helped establish SEAT as a youthful, design-led alternative within the VAG portfolio.
