About the SEAT 1400

The SEAT 1400 B represents the third major evolution of the model that launched the Spanish automotive industry. Introduced in late 1956, it retained the American-influenced 'pontoon' styling of its predecessors but added a revised front grille and distinctive two-tone paint options. The 1400 B featured a significant power increase to 58 hp, making it more capable for the growing Spanish middle class and government officials who were its primary buyers. As a licensed version of the Fiat 1400, it established the technical foundation for SEAT's future, proving that Spain could successfully manufacture complex modern machinery in the post-war era.
