About the Chrysler Concorde
The second-generation Chrysler Concorde refined the 'cab-forward' design language that defined the brand's 1990s resurgence, featuring a dramatically raked windshield and a low-slung, Ferrari-inspired grille. Built on the LH platform alongside the Dodge Intrepid and Chrysler 300M, the Concorde was positioned as a near-luxury cruiser with a focus on interior volume and aerodynamic efficiency. The 3.2-litre V6, exclusive to the LXi trim in 2000, offered a significant performance upgrade over the base 2.7-litre unit while maintaining a smooth, quiet ride. Though it lacked the rear-wheel-drive dynamics of its European rivals, its massive cabin and 19-cubic-foot trunk made it a standout for long-distance American touring.

Chrysler Concorde fun facts
- The Concorde's distinctive cab-forward styling was inspired by the 1987 Lamborghini Portofino concept car, designed while Chrysler owned the Italian marque.
- To save weight, Chrysler engineers utilised aluminium for the hood and several rear suspension components, a rarity for a mass-market American sedan at the time.
- The second-generation Concorde was nearly 8 inches longer than its predecessor, yet it was lighter and more aerodynamic.
