About the Honda CR-V Mk3
The third-generation Honda CR-V marked a significant shift for the model, ditching the rugged, side-opening rear door and external spare wheel for a more sophisticated, car-like liftgate design. Built on a platform shared with the Civic, it prioritised on-road refinement and safety, earning high marks for its practical interior and 'Real Time' 4WD system. The 2.2-litre i-CTDi diesel engine was Honda's first in-house diesel, praised for its smoothness and linear power delivery compared to contemporary rivals. While not a dedicated off-roader, its reliability and family-friendly ergonomics have made it a staple of the used market.
