About the Ford Mustang

Ford introduced the Mustang in 1964 and rapidly created a new market for personal sporty cars. This 1966 hardtop represents the entry-level 200-cubic-inch six rather than the much quicker optional 289 V8. Its easygoing engine and simple three-speed manual favour relaxed cruising. Collectors prize original bodywork and sound structure, while fastbacks and rare performance variants command far higher prices.
