About the Buick Century
The third-generation Buick Century was part of GM's 'Colonnade' styling era, featuring fixed B-pillars and frameless door glass for improved rollover protection. By 1975, the 350 cubic-inch (5.7-litre) V8 had been detuned to meet stricter emissions standards, resulting in a shift from raw muscle to comfortable cruising. This model year is notable for the introduction of the catalytic converter and the transition to rectangular headlights on certain trims. While less aggressive than its GS predecessors, it remains a quintessential example of mid-70s American luxury-performance balance.
