About the Chrysler Neon PL

Launched with the famous 'Hi' advertising campaign, the Chrysler Neon (sold as Dodge and Plymouth in the US) was a bold attempt to create a competitive American small car. It featured a distinctive 'cab-forward' design with a long wheelbase and short overhangs, providing interior space that rivalled cars in the class above. While its interior plastics and refinement were often criticised, the Neon was significantly more powerful than its contemporary rivals from Honda and Toyota. In the UK, it was marketed as a high-value alternative to the Ford Escort, featuring a uniquely stiffened suspension for European tastes.
