About the Toyota RAV4 XA30
The XA30 generation RAV4 marked a significant shift for Toyota's compact SUV, moving away from the three-door format to focus exclusively on a larger, more practical five-door body style. The 2.2 D-4D diesel engine was a popular choice in Europe, offering a balance of torque for light towing and improved fuel economy over petrol variants. This generation introduced the Integrated Active Drive System, which coordinated the four-wheel drive, stability control, and electric power steering. While it lost some of the 'fun-to-drive' character of its predecessors, it gained substantial interior space and a more premium cabin feel.
