About the Chevrolet Trax
The Chevrolet Trax was introduced in 2013 as a global entry into the burgeoning subcompact crossover market, sharing its Gamma II platform and mechanical underpinnings with the Vauxhall Mokka. In the UK, the 1.7-litre VCDi diesel was the pick of the range, offering significantly more torque and better fuel economy than the naturally aspirated petrol alternatives. Despite its chunky, American-influenced styling, the Trax struggled to compete against more established rivals like the Nissan Juke and was withdrawn from the UK market in 2015 when Chevrolet ceased European operations. It remains a practical, if somewhat unrefined, used choice noted for its generous interior space and high seating position.
