About the Toyota Avalon XX50
The fifth-generation Toyota Avalon (XX50) marked a significant shift for the nameplate, moving to the TNGA-K platform to offer a more engaging driving experience than its predecessors. While it retained the traditional virtues of a spacious, quiet, and comfortable cabin, the XX50 introduced more aggressive styling and a bump in power for the 3.5-litre V6 engine. This generation was the first to offer a TRD variant, though the standard 3.5 V6 remained the core choice for those seeking smooth, naturally aspirated performance. Despite its improvements, the Avalon was discontinued in the North American market in 2022 as consumer preference shifted toward crossovers and SUVs.
