About the Toyota Avalon XX40
The fourth-generation Toyota Avalon (XX40) marked a significant departure for the nameplate, ditching its traditionally soft, conservative styling for a sleeker, more athletic profile. Launched for the 2013 model year (with production starting in late 2012), it was designed and engineered primarily for the North American market at Toyota's Kentucky plant. Underneath, it shared a platform with the Lexus ES, providing a refined ride and a spacious cabin that remained its hallmark. The 3.5-litre 2GR-FE V6 engine offered smooth, linear power, making it a highly competent long-distance cruiser with surprising straight-line performance for its class.
