About the SsangYong Korando KJ

The second-generation SsangYong Korando (KJ) is a rugged, body-on-frame SUV designed by British stylist Ken Greenley. It is notable for its use of Mercedes-Benz-licensed engines, including the 2.9-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel, which provided a reputation for mechanical longevity despite modest performance. The design was a deliberate attempt to blend modern curves with the traditional Jeep-like proportions of its predecessor. While its on-road manners are unrefined by modern standards, its low-range transfer case and short wheelbase make it a capable budget off-roader.
