About the Skoda Roomster
The Skoda Roomster, launched in 2006 and facelifted in 2010, is a distinctive 'leisure activity vehicle' that combines the front end of a Fabia with a high-roof rear section. The 2010 update replaced the older PD diesel engines with smoother 1.6-litre common-rail units, improving refinement and efficiency. Its standout feature is the VarioFlex rear seating system, allowing the three individual seats to slide, fold, or be removed entirely to create a van-like load space. While its unconventional styling divided opinion, it remains a cult choice for those valuing maximum utility within a compact footprint.

Skoda Roomster fun facts
- The Roomster's design was intended to look like two different cars joined together: a 'driving room' at the front and a 'living room' at the back.
- The rear windows are significantly deeper than the front ones to provide a better view for children and reduce motion sickness.
- It uses a hybrid platform, combining the front end of the Mk2 Fabia with the wider rear axle of the Mk1 Octavia for better stability and load capacity.
