About the Mazda 3 BK

The first-generation Mazda 3, known internally as the BK, was launched in 2003 to replace the long-running 323. It shared the Ford global C1 platform with the contemporary Ford Focus and Volvo S40, resulting in class-leading chassis rigidity and handling characteristics. The 1.6 TS was a core mid-range trim in the UK, offering a balance of equipment and economy. While not as fast as the MPS performance variant, the standard hatchback was praised for its precise steering and slick gear shift.
