About the Skoda Rapid
Launched in 2012, the Skoda Rapid was designed to bridge the gap between the smaller Fabia and the larger Octavia. It utilised a stretched version of the Volkswagen Group PQ25 platform, resulting in a deceptively large interior and a massive 550-litre boot. The 1.2 TSI engine in 105 PS guise provides a balance of efficiency and adequate performance for motorway cruising. While the interior materials are more utilitarian than its VW cousins, the Rapid is prized by used buyers for its 'Simply Clever' practical touches and straightforward mechanicals.

- The Rapid was developed alongside the fourth-generation SEAT Toledo, with which it shares almost all of its body panels and interior components.
- In 2013, Skoda added the 'Spaceback' variant, a shorter hatchback version designed to appeal to younger European buyers who preferred a more traditional hatch silhouette.
