About the SEAT Toledo Mk2
The second-generation SEAT Toledo (Typ 1M) marked a significant shift for the Spanish brand, moving from the liftback design of its predecessor to a more traditional three-box saloon profile. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign, it shared the Volkswagen Group PQ34 platform with the Golf Mk4 and Audi A3, inheriting a high-quality interior and refined road manners. The 1.6-litre 8-valve engine served as the entry-level petrol option, offering dependable performance for the C-segment. While it lacked the flair of the V5 or Cupra models, the Mk2 Toledo remains noted for its massive 500-litre boot and solid build quality, representing SEAT's late-90s push into a more premium market space.
