About the Lada Priora
Launched in 2007 as a heavily modernised evolution of the Lada 110, the Priora (VAZ-2170) represented a significant step forward for AvtoVAZ in terms of safety and equipment. It featured a new 1.6-litre 16-valve engine, improved crash structures, and for the first time in a Lada, standard driver-side airbags and electric power steering. While its platform remained dated compared to Western rivals, its simplicity and ability to withstand harsh Russian climates made it a massive commercial success. Production continued for over a decade, eventually being phased out in favour of the more modern Lada Vesta.
