About the Renault Twingo Mk2
The second-generation Renault Twingo moved away from the monobox design of the original, adopting a more conventional hatchback silhouette based on the Clio II platform. The 1.2-litre 8-valve engine served as the entry-level powertrain, focused on urban economy rather than outright performance. Its standout feature remained the sliding and folding rear seats, which allowed owners to prioritise either class-leading rear legroom or boot space. While less avant-garde than its predecessor, the Mk2 offered significantly improved safety standards and build quality.
