About the Renault Megane RS Trophy-R Mk4
The Mk4 Megane R.S. Trophy-R is a hardcore, track-focused evolution of the standard Trophy, famously shedding 130kg through extreme measures. Renault Sport removed the rear seats, replaced the 4Control four-wheel steering with a lighter fixed setup, and added a carbon-composite bonnet and Akrapovič titanium exhaust. It was designed specifically to reclaim the front-wheel-drive Nürburgring record, which it achieved in 2019 with a time of 7:40.1. Driving it reveals a level of chassis purity and mechanical feedback rarely found in modern hatchbacks, aided by adjustable Öhlins dampers and optional carbon-fibre wheels.
