About the Renault Megane Mk1
Launched in 1995 as a replacement for the Renault 19, the first-generation Megane introduced a softer, 'bird-beak' design language to the C-segment. The RT trim was a mid-range specification, offering a balance of equipment and value that made it a common sight on European roads. It was noted for its compliant ride quality and a strong emphasis on safety, being one of the first cars in its class to achieve a four-star Euro NCAP rating. While not a performance model, the 1.6-litre 8-valve engine provided adequate torque for daily commuting and family duties.
