About the Citroën Saxo
The Citroën Saxo VTR was the entry-point to the brand's 'hot' range, sitting just below the 16-valve VTS. While it lacked the outright power of its sibling, the 8-valve engine provided punchy low-end torque that suited its incredibly low kerb weight of just 920kg. It became a cultural phenomenon in the UK, dominating the modified car scene due to its affordable insurance and sharp, lift-off oversteer-prone handling. Today, clean and unmolested examples are increasingly rare and have transitioned from cheap runabouts to sought-after modern classics.
