About the Daihatsu Grand Move
The Daihatsu Grand Move, known as the Pyzar in Japan, was a compact MPV based on the Charade chassis. Introduced to the UK in 1997, the 1.6-litre engine arrived in late 1998 as part of a facelift to improve performance and refinement over the original 1.5-litre unit. Its tall, boxy design prioritised interior volume, offering a commanding seating position and a versatile cabin where the seats could be folded flat to form a bed. While it struggled to compete with the Renault Scénic in sales, it remains a cult choice for its reliability and clever packaging.
