About the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 996
The 996 GT3 RS was built as a homologation model for the 911 GT3 R and RSR racers, featuring a high-revving 'Mezger' flat-six engine. It is distinguished by its white paint with either blue or red decals, echoing the 1973 Carrera RS, and features weight-saving measures like a polycarbonate rear window and a carbon fibre bonnet. With a stiffer suspension setup and revised cylinder heads compared to the standard GT3, it offers a visceral, analogue driving experience. Only 682 units were produced, all in left-hand drive, making it one of the rarest modern RS Porsches.
