About the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 997
The 997.2 GT3 RS is widely regarded as the high-water mark for Porsche's naturally aspirated driver's cars. It introduced a larger 3.8-litre version of the Hans Mezger-designed flat-six, producing 450hp without the aid of turbochargers. Distinguished by its wider body, large fixed rear wing, and shorter gearing compared to the standard GT3, it was designed primarily for circuit use while remaining road legal. As one of the last RS models offered exclusively with a manual transmission, it has become a primary target for serious Porsche collectors.
