About the Ferrari 512 TR
The Ferrari 512 TR arrived in 1991 as a comprehensive re-engineering of the iconic Testarossa, addressing the predecessor's handling quirks and ergonomic flaws. While it retained the dramatic side strakes and wide stance, the engine was lowered by 30mm to improve the centre of gravity, and the chassis was stiffened. The 4.9-litre flat-12 received Nikasil liners and Bosch Motronic management, resulting in a significant power bump and a more linear delivery. It remains a definitive analogue supercar, pairing a gated manual shifter with one of Maranello's most charismatic naturally aspirated engines.

Ferrari 512 TR fun facts
- The 'TR' in the name stands for 'Testa Rossa', Italian for 'red head', referring to the red-painted cylinder heads of the flat-12 engine.
- Unlike the original Testarossa, the 512 TR features a nose design inspired by the Ferrari 348, intended to bring it in line with the brand's 1990s design language.
- The engine was lowered significantly in the chassis to improve handling, a change that required a completely redesigned rear subframe compared to the earlier Testarossa.
