About the Alpina Roadster V8
The Alpina Roadster V8 was conceived as a more sophisticated alternative to the BMW Z8, trading the M5-derived S62 engine and manual gearbox for a smoother 4.8-litre V8 and a Switch-Tronic automatic transmission. Produced after BMW ceased Z8 production, Alpina softened the suspension and fitted 20-inch wheels to transform the car into a true grand tourer. It was the first Alpina model to be sold officially through BMW's North American dealer network. With only 555 units produced, it is significantly rarer than the standard Z8 and has become a blue-chip collector car, prized for its effortless cruising ability and Henrik Fisker's timeless design.
