About the Lamborghini Diablo

Launched in 1990, the Diablo replaced the Countach as Lamborghini’s flagship supercar. The original version couples a 5.7-litre V12 to a five-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Marcello Gandini’s design was refined under Chrysler ownership while retaining the dramatic scissor doors. The roughly 900-car count refers to the original base model, excluding the distinct VT, SV and special editions. The US range spans recorded base-model auction sales, while the UK estimate follows a £177,000 1991 sale.
